Swimming (even in the tundra zone)

We've been invited a couple of times to a friend's house on a lake. The children really enjoy going and will swim even if it is just barely above 70 degrees. This was one of those days. First, though, we have to eat.

Nathan is posing with his very first cookie that he baked by himself (with just a few questions to me).The cookie was a Chocolate Crinkle cookie and was delicious.

All of the children went swimming and actually swam for longer than I would have supposed. Stephen loves his goggles and even though you can't see more than about 2 feet through the water, he kept them on the whole time.

As you can see, the moms were warmly and safely ensconced on the porch!

You did that today? Amazing. I was freezing all day, inside and warm and dry. Looks like everyone had a great time!

No, it was a date last week. I'm just behind on getting some of my pictures posted.

i'm an idiot but i don't know the answer to this question. probably your kids all know the answer.

why does 70 degrees feel so much colder in the water than out of the water? and not just when you get out and you got the evaporation thing going on. that i understand. but even in the water it's cold.

explain.
