We took care of our leaking hydrant problem by taking it out and putting in a new one outside of the shed.
Then, while we had the contractors out here, we had them dig a trench and put another hydrant in the garden. Now we won't have to drape hoses across the yard to water the garden. We also had them pull electrical service out there. We'll power the electric fence from here. The upside down buckets are protecting our asparagus from the contractors.

Oh, you missed your chance to get the kind with the drinking-fountain-bubbler option. We looked at a house with those (in the tiled bathrooms and in the yard) and I've coveted them ever since, LOL
So THAT'S what the poles were for...your electric fence. That's definitely good for keeping the varmints out of the garden. Was that a recent addition, or have you always had it?

The boys would say that country boys drink right from the hose!
Actually Betsy, the poles behind Stephen are part of our grape fence. We don't put up the electric fence until the corn is tassling.
Up until then, we rely on our Spray Aways. They have a motion sensor that detects animals and then sends a spray of water shooting through the air. That keeps the deer out.
