We made these signs at the woodworking class this winter and they were a gift for my dh's birthday. I varnished them in May and today we posted them. This sign is for Venison Junction.
Hemlock Trail is named for all the hemlock trees along the trail.

i love the signs. unfortunately any signs in our yard would be unnecessary. they would read something like this: "you're looking at the porch." and: "turn around and see the cat catch a shrew."
thanks for the photo "shout out." your description of the weather and the lush green woods reminded me how blessed you are to live in michigan in the summer. my boss' wife grew up in michigan, and he attended calvin college as an undergrad. we had a nice conversation recently about how lake michigan is very nearly the ideal summer vacation spot. both of us like it at least as much as the ocean. just as pretty and less salty.
