Nathan is 5000!

Today Nathan is 5000 days old. We found this fun site called timeanddate.com which can calculate when you will be 1 billion seconds old or which day of the week your 99th birthday will be on. So to celebrate, we went to a local ice cream parlor that has fantastic ice cream.

Thank you Lord for Nathan's 5000 days!

Easter Egg Hunt

We ended up traveling over the Easter weekend and so missed the annual egg hunt at our church. So when the local assisted living home that we visit monthly offered a chance to hunt eggs, we took them up on their offer.

They hid eggs for the children to find both inside and outside.

Easter Cookies

Our local cooking supply store (which I love) was having a cookie decorating day. So we went. We got to use food coloring "paint" and food coloring "markers". The markers were so cool to use.

The finished products.

Stephen's chick (done with the paint)

Deb's egg (all done with markers)

Stephen's chick and Nathan's egg.

Star Wars and Squirrels

Aaron created this Star Wars picture (with a little help from me). I helped him with the concept and showed him how to use the compass to make a perfectly round Death Star. He drew all the TIE fighters and X-wings and B-wings himself.

The chickens are enjoying the warmer weather and since the garden isn't in yet, they have the freedom of the whole yard and woods.

And finally, the squirrel stew made with Nathan's squirrel. It really does taste like a tougher chicken. Deborah said that it tasted delicious!
